The West Sumatra Provincial Government are collaborating with the Netherlands in the fields of agriculture and human resources  in order to accelerate the West Sumatra agricultural sector. APBD of 10 percent has been allocated to work on the agricultural sector broadly.

Management and the application of technology that had not been utilized in the agricultural sector, according to Audy, were the inadequacies of West Sumatra Province's agriculture industry. Therefore, there needs to be encouragement and facilities from the local government to promote and maintain food security.

"The Netherlands has outstanding agricultural technology and management, and people in West Sumatra are mostly engaged in agriculture. Hence, we aspire to learn from the finest and implement the best practice for West Sumatra," said Deputy Governor of West Sumatra, Audy Joinaldy.

The West Sumatra Provincial Government visited the Dutch Embassy in Jakarta with the aim of providing opportunities for the younger generation of West Sumatra to study in the Netherlands. The Dutch Embassy responded positively to this.

As Director of Nuffic Neso Indonesia, Peter Van Tuijl stated that he was willing to give youth graduates of the Agriculture Vocational School of West Sumatra Province study in the Netherlands. The authorized program could be implemented in the near future.

Nuffic Neso Indonesia is an official organization that works with the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science as well as the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to serve as educational representatives in Indonesia.
