Strengthening Integrated Food Security: Edufarmers Officially Partners with the Malang Regency Government
09 Feb 2026Edu Farmers International Foundation (Edufarmers) held an audience meeting and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malang Regency Government regarding collaboration on the Integrated Food Security Strengthening Program in Malang Regency. The meeting was conducted to finalize the MoU that had previously been jointly drafted. It took place on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Graha Bakti Praja BKPSDM, Malang Regency. The MoU signing was carried out immediately afterward by the Chairperson of Edufarmers Foundation and the Regent of Malang, Drs. H. M. Sanusi, M.M., at his residence in Malang City.
Since 2023, Malang Regency has been one of the main and strategic areas for the implementation of Edufarmers’ stunting reduction program. In this region, Edufarmers has applied an integrated approach that includes community empowerment through the development of local poultry businesses, training for community health cadres and parents, as well as the One Day One Egg nutritional intervention for children experiencing stunting. The program is strengthened by the use of Nutrition AI technology as a tool for education, monitoring, and child growth assistance. The program’s implementation in Malang has shown significant results, successfully preventing 78% of stunting cases across two implemented programs, positioning Malang as a best practice example of community-based food and nutrition program integration.
In 2025, Edufarmers further strengthened its role by establishing five Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) under the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) in Malang City and Regency. This initiative is designed as part of an integrated food security approach from upstream to downstream — starting from increasing farmers’ productivity and income through regenerative agriculture and technology adoption, strengthening supply chains through cooperative partnerships, to fulfilling community nutritional needs through the MBG Program and the Zero Stunting Program. With this approach, Malang Regency is positioned as a pilot area for integrated food and nutrition security that can be replicated more broadly.
This Memorandum of Understanding is expected to serve as a strategic foundation for collaboration in supporting sustainable agricultural development, accelerating stunting reduction, and improving the quality of human resources in Malang Regency.
Through this partnership, Edufarmers and the Malang Regency Government reaffirm their joint commitment to building a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food system for the welfare of the community.
