Ready as Agents of Change, 153 Bertani Untuk Negeri 9 Participants Officially Start Their Duties!
01 Oct 2024Stepping into Batch 9 is a significant achievement for the Bertani Untuk Negeri program, which continues to attract agricultural students from all over Indonesia. A total of 7,741 applicants from 246 public and private universities have registered as participants in BUN 9. This program, in collaboration with the Certified Independent Study Internship 7 – Kemendikbudristekdikti, has selected 153 students as participants of BUN 9, spread across four commodities and one research internship, with the breakdown of 40 participants in chili, 40 in corn, 32 in cocoa, 30 in coffee, and 11 in research internships.
The inauguration of Bertani Untuk Negeri 9 was held alongside the graduation of participants from Bertani Untuk Negeri 8, which took place online on September 10, 2024, through the “Lepas Sambut BUN 8 & 9” event. The event was opened by Amri Ilmma, COO of Edufarmers, who congratulated the 258 participants of BUN 8 for their contributions to increasing agricultural productivity in their respective areas and commodities. In his speech, Amri encouraged the younger generation to continue to implement beneficial actions to advance the agricultural sector through positive activities that have a significant impact on the welfare of farmers and scientific knowledge. He also motivated the participants of BUN 9, who will undergo internships until December 2024.
The Lepas Sambut BUN 8 & 9 event also invited MSIB 7 as a partner of Edufarmers in organizing the Bertani Untuk Negeri program. Since the MSIB program was first launched until batch seven, Jihad Wafda Qahhar Al-Masyhida, the Supervisor of Partnership Relations at MSIB, has expressed pride in the success of the Bertani Untuk Negeri program, which has increased farmers' productivity in every batch. Thanks to the achievements made, MSIB, as a platform for developing students' skills, continues to support the sustainability of the BUN program, which has a positive impact on the agricultural sector.
After the speeches, Amri Ilmma officially inaugurated Bertani Untuk Negeri 9 by introducing Meilani Aulia Putri (Ibn Khaldun University) and Muhammad Traya Alfarizi (Bogor Agricultural Institute) as representatives of BUN 9 participants. After the inauguration, the event, hosted by Evaulia, announced the 28 best participants from BUN 8 across various commodities. As representatives, Putri Tere (FDA Chili BUN 8) and Ahmad Agus Prasetyo (FDA Cocoa BUN 8) shared their messages, impressions, and experiences during their activities in their respective clusters.
For Putri, the Bertani Untuk Negeri program changed her perspective on the agricultural sector. During her activities, she discovered profound practical insights that supported agricultural practices. Although Putri felt challenged at first as an agribusiness student, this did not discourage her. In fact, thanks to the challenges she faced, Putri gradually adapted to her environment, friends, and farmers, resulting in new innovations in the field.
Similarly, Ahmad, as a participant of BUN 8, gained valuable knowledge and experience in the field, such as the basics of gardening, time management, and building good relationships with the local community and supported farmers. Interestingly, even though the farmers he assisted were older, their spirit was commendable and motivated Ahmad to give his best to the farmers.
After sharing their impressions and messages, a video showcasing the graduation of the Bertani Untuk Negeri 8 participants was played as an appreciation for the successes and achievements attained during the program. The activities, which took place from February to June 2024, successfully empowered 1,424 supported farmers across various commodities.
As the event approached its conclusion, the symbolic passing of the baton took place from Ahmad Agus Prasetyo (BUN 8) to Meilani Aulia Putri (BUN 9) to continue the effort for future BUN participants. Through this moment, it is hoped that the incoming participants can continue and enhance agricultural productivity through the skills they possess. The event continued with the reading of the participants' pledge and the Bertani Untuk Negeri slogan by Muhammad Traya Alfarizi (BUN 9) to ignite the spirit of the participants during the farewell ceremony. To conclude, the event was documented to capture the moments of togetherness.
Congratulations on your duties, FDA BUN 9! Ignite your spirit to contribute to agriculture!
