Edufarmers at the Philanthropy Asia Summit 2025: Advancing AI Innovation for a Sustainable Future

14 May 2025

Edufarmers was honored to be one of the participants at the Philanthropy Asia Summit 2025, held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, from May 5–7, 2025. As a proud partner of Google.org, we were thrilled to join this year’s summit themed “Priming Asia for Good”, an inspiring gathering of leaders and innovators exploring the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI) in addressing today’s global challenges.

AI plays a crucial role in tackling human development issues, such as expanding access to education and workforce training. Technology helps bridge information gaps, making access more inclusive across communities. Aligned with Google.org’s mission to strengthen human development through technology, we are deeply grateful for the USD 2 million grant awarded to Edufarmers in 2024, which laid a strong foundation for developing AI-driven solutions aimed at empowering farmers and addressing child stunting in Indonesia.

To support smallholder farmers, we introduced “Pak Dayat”, a WhatsApp-based chatbot powered by AI photo analysis and smart recommendations. Pak Dayat acts as a virtual consultant, helping farmers diagnose field issues, provide actionable solutions, and adopt more sustainable agricultural practices. This innovation improves both land and labor efficiency while contributing to farmers’ well-being and environmental conservation.

Additionally, to address childhood stunting through nutrition intervention, we developed SAKTI-AI, an AI-based assistant designed for parents and community health workers (posyandu cadres). SAKTI-AI offers accessible information on balanced nutrition and helps monitor the distribution of nutritious eggs to children at risk of stunting.

We extend our sincere thanks to Google.org, Temasek Trust, and all partners involved in making this summit possible. It was an invaluable opportunity to share insights, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations for a better future. We look forward to seeing more farmers and families adopt AI solutions and join us in transforming Indonesia’s agriculture and child health landscape.
