Collaborating to Combat Stunting: APINDO and Edufarmers Join Forces for Indonesia #zerostunting

31 Oct 2023

Various efforts have been mobilized to achieve a stunt-free Indonesia by different institutions and organizations. As a form of commitment to reduce the stunting rate, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia collaborates with APINDO (Indonesian Employers Association) to address stunting with the goal of improving the quality of human resources in the future.

The government encourages cross-sector collaboration to accelerate the reduction of stunting, involving the private sector as a key partner. Entrepreneurs are considered to play a significant role in creating positive change due to their extensive resources and knowledge. The stunting reduction collaboration program initiated by APINDO adheres to the regulations and data provided by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia to ensure that the food received is in line with the beneficiaries' needs.

On Thursday, October 26, 2023, APINDO agreed to collaborate with Edufarmers to address the reduction of stunting in Indonesia by providing nutritious food to the beneficiaries. As the program implementer, Edufarmers is responsible for providing supplementary food according to the program and the regulations of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The allocation of food distribution will take place over a 4-month program period, targeting community health centers (puskemas) with a focus on children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers.

The provision of nutritious food to beneficiaries is expected to prevent the risk of stunting during the first 1,000 days of life and achieve a stunt-free Indonesia. Edufarmers and APINDO hope that this program will contribute to reducing the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia.
